Jersey Race Club Sponsorship and Corporate Entertainment Opportunities 2010

Racing in Jersey is an experience to be enjoyed. Les Landes racecourse is the most southerly track in the British Isles and, as many visitors have stated, superior in terms of the natural beauty of the location. From the elevated viewing bank in front of the winning post the racegoer has not only a perfect view of the action, but also a vista across the sea to Guernsey and Sark to the North and France to the East.

If the proximity to the sea, some two hundred feet below, is a little daunting to the jockey about to ride the course for the first time – Lester Piggott once described it as like riding round the wall of death – Les Landes has an excellent safety record. In fact the foreshortening effect of viewing from the winning post is what misleads; there is a broad swathe of heathland to the North of the racecourse perimeter and there is no record of any horse or rider taking an unexpected dip.

A day at the races in Jersey is a unique experience and that’s what creates a valuable opportunity for commercial sponsors. As a day out for staff as a reward for achievement or as part of team building, it brings people together in a relaxed atmosphere while providing opportunities for fun competitions like sweepstakes on the outcome of the races. Similarly an afternoon or evening at Les Landes provides the perfect setting and atmosphere in which to entertain clients.

The Jersey Race Club understands there is much more to sponsorship than simply attaching your firm’s name to a race. The Club is looking for long-term relationships with commercial partners, which will deliver equal benefits to both sides of the partnership.

There are nine meetings planned for next season beginning at Easter and ending on August Bank Holiday. Sponsors may feel that best value is obtained for them by “owning” a complete race day, which involves financial support for all five races. However, sponsorship is available for individual races with the season’s principal events like The Jersey Derby, The Channel Islands Champion Hurdle and The Clarendon, the biggest handicap of the season and most sought after.

Sponsors benefits can be tailored to suit individual needs, but the basic elements are as follows: -

1. A site for a private marquee, either on the rails or alongside the Parade Ring. Catering can be arranged by the sponsor, either through the Race Club caterer or a caterer of their choice.

2. A number of complimentary entry badges for your guests. Car parking is free in the centre of the racecourse.

3. A complimentary Race Card for each guest.

4. A Tote betting point in the marquee, together with a monitor, televising each race live.

5. The prestigious opportunity to name the race you sponsor.

6. An engraved trophy that will be presented after the race by the sponsor, or a representative. The Race Club photographer will be present and complimentary photographs of the presentation will be provided to you after the race meeting.

7. The sponsor’s name will be attached to all pre and post race publicity and media briefing material and in the race card.

8. Banners and flags may be put up on the rails and on the marquee on the Sponsor’s race day, giving maximum exposure.

9. A complimentary whole page in the Race Card will be reserved for an advertisement on the day you are sponsoring.

10. If you do not wish to have a marquee for your own use, sponsors and their guests may also use the facilities of the Members Marquee.  Our excellent racecourse caterers Niche Events
provide a sumptuous three course buffet lunch in the members marquee, full details of the menu and a la carte options are available on their website www.nicheevents.com
